ABOUT ME
My name is Jane Tang, an interior design student at Bellevue College in Washington, USA. I was born in Taiwan and grew up between Taipei, Shanghai, Seattle, and now Italy. Moving through different cultures gave me a sensitivity to observation—how people express emotion, how spaces hold memories, and how art can reveal what words cannot.

Growing up in an artistic family, I realized early on that art is not just something I practice; it is a part of who I am. At 15, my first trip to Europe left a deep impression on me and planted the dream of one day returning to learn and create in a place where art is woven into everyday life.

That dream came true this fall when I began my internship with Julia Krahn, a German contemporary artist whose work centers on memory, identity, and emotion. Working closely with her has taught me how intimately art connects with life and how sincerity, vulnerability, and observation shape meaningful creation. Her influence has helped me understand how to protect my inner voice and how to distinguish between the world’s noise and my own truth.
As a designer, I enjoy creating for people, but as an artist, my dream is to paint works that offer warmth and emotional resonance.
This internship helped me understand that both paths are part of who I am, one about creating for others, and one about expressing my own truth. My future, I believe, is in finding a way to let these two sides meet through honesty and emotion.
